Our Bidbook #2 “Confluences” officially submitted in Brussels

On July 14, 2025, the team officially submitted its second bidbook in Brussels, titled “Confluences.” This submission marks a key milestone in Namur’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture 2030.

This 100-page document is dense, precise, and well-structured. It takes the project from concept to concrete action by answering around forty specific questions. It outlines how the local population will be actively involved, details the planned artistic projects, allocated budgets, governance structure, and the core team leading the bid—offering a robust collection of evidence designed to convince the European jury.

By submitting the bid a day ahead of the official deadline, the team demonstrates its professionalism, rigor, and desire to avoid any last-minute issues. The gesture also reflects a strong sense of confidence in Namur’s candidacy.

Things will move quickly from here: in the coming weeks, a delegation from the jury will visit Namur to assess the project on the ground and meet with residents. The team will then present and defend the bid orally in Brussels before the final decision is announced on Wednesday, September 24. A festive event is already in the works for the occasion—stay tuned!
