One of the essential conditions for Namur to become European Capital of Culture in 2030 is the mobilisation of the region’s dynamic forces: businesses and associations, of course, but also you, the residents, who will be the project’s first ambassadors!

2030 may seem a long way off, but everything has already started to happen, and everyone has a role to play in this adventure!

The bid for the European Capital of Culture label will take place in two stages (at the end of 2024 and the end of 2025), and you will regularly have the opportunity to take part and help your region win!

When it comes to choosing the city that will be the European Capital of Culture, the jury will take a close look at the support shown by the population and the strengths of the region. The mobilisation of everyone around Namur is therefore of the utmost importance if we are to muster the resources to organise an exceptional year, the benefits of which will last well into the future.
