On Wednesday, August 7th, the Pavillon of Namur welcomed nearly 70 people for a session of exchanges centered around the city’s bid for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2030. This evening, marked by intense discussions, allowed participants to share ideas and proposals, paving the way for numerous future collaborations.
The Pavillon, located on the Esplanade of the Citadel, provided an ideal setting for these passionate exchanges. Participants also had the opportunity to discover the brand-new Stellar Scape exhibition, a true cultural gem of the city, and were particularly enthusiastic about visiting it with the guidance and commentary of mediators. This guided approach enriched their understanding of the exhibition while reinforcing the links between culture and citizenship, two fundamental values upheld by Namur’s candidacy.
Namur’s bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030 represents an ambitious project that goes far beyond a mere honorary title. It is a genuine development accelerator for the city, capable of bringing its residents together around major cultural, economic, and tourism projects. The evening of August 7th once again demonstrated the commitment of Namur’s citizens to this collective adventure. Their willingness to actively contribute to the construction of this project is evident, and the exchanges that took place at the Pavillon are just the beginning.
By mobilizing together, the driving forces of Namur are showing that they are ready to meet the challenge and make their city an example of cultural dynamism in Europe. This evening at the Pavillon was a significant moment, symbolizing the collective momentum and shared creativity that fuel this candidacy. A new key moment on the path to 2030, where culture and collaboration intertwine to shape the future of Namur.
